After a week of kiteboarding and a crazy party night at the Sensation White we spent a weekend in Amsterdam with our lovely CouchSurfing host Jantine, who is unfortunately (well fortunately for her, but unfortunately for other CS guests) now moving to South America. She gave up her highly paid job as an IT Project Manager to dive into another adventure of working as a volunteer and living life to the fullest. But before she left we had the opportunity to stay at her beautiful little house right at one of the many channels in the Netherlands. Good times. The restaurant in the pictures is the Norderlicht Cafe. Highly recommended.

Sensation is one of the world’s biggest dance events for electronic music. It originated in Amsterdam, but now there are events taking place all over the world. This year it was the event’s 10th anniversary. 45000 people all dressed in white having an awesome time in the Amsterdam AreanA.

Amsterdam
Fully packed and probably overloaded we started our 3 day journey to Scotland. After picking up Felix we drove up to Goettingen, stayed there for a night and my aunt’s place and continued our trip on the next day to Amsterdam [map 1].
From there we took the overnight ferry from DSDF Seaways for a pretty good price (EUR 230.- for 2 passengers and 1 car) to Newcastle, an English city at the border to Scotland, from where we drove up to Edinburgh [map 2].
More picture from the road trip are in my Picasa web album.
